Although Survivors is based on the lives of Survivors that ended up in Rochester, NY, their stories are universal and meant to encompass the many resourceful ways people were able to survivor the Nazi regime.

 

Developed from the writings and interviews of 10 people who were all young during the Holocaust, audiences will experience both the hardship and courage of these inspirational individuals.

Survivors in appropriate for students 8th grade and up, as well as adult audiences. The play can be licensed for individual theaters, schools, colleges, community theatre and professional groups. Regional licenses are available for those that wish to mount a school tour. 

The play is written to be performed with a cast of 6 (with doubling) but can be expanded to up to 18 actors. Run time is 65 minutes with no intermission. We suggest each performance be followed by and audience talk back.

Survivors also serves as a discussion-starter for current events and the risks of normalized hate and prejudice.
